  COS 124: Transformative Leadership​

This course forms the student’s identity as pastoral leader
and change agent in congregations, The United Methodist Church, and the world.



COS 223: Worship & Sacraments
Instructor Rev. Sarah Jo Adams-Wilson

This course examines worship within The United Methodist Church including liturgy,
​ sacraments, and special services. Attention will be given to the pastor’s role as leader in worship.



COS 324: Preaching

This course focuses on preaching the gospel from the Old and New Testaments. 


COS 423: Mission
Instructor Rev. Dr. Stephen Cook

This course introduces the theology and scope of mission,
and the pastor’s role in leading congregations in their mission as agents of God’s transforming redemption.

COS 523: Evangelism
Instructor Rev. Lee Anne Burris

This course introduces students to the theology and practices of evangelism
as an expression of the mission of God.
 



What is involved in a Hybrid/Blended Course? 
  • Class length has not changed. Each class will be 20 hours of work, as required by GBHEM.
  • Two days (8 hours) of in-person classes at Millsaps College
  • ZOOM meetings (4 hours) (Synchronous Work - done as a group at the same time)
  • Independent work (reading & pre-work found in your syllabus)
  • Course Connect - (6 hours) independent assignments done online at your own pace, but that have deadlines.
You must do ALL sections of the course to receive credit. GBHEM requires that no student miss more than 20% of any COS Course. (20% = 4 hours)
