Center for Ministry Staff (cont.)

Jane Watts is the Center's consultant for Spiritual Formation Programs. Jane and her husband Tucker are members of Christ United Methodist Church. They live in Madison and have three children.

As a lay person, Jane is certified in Spiritual Direction and works with our existing spiritual formation programs, including Journey Partners Certification in Spiritual Direction, Foundational Seminars, and Peer Learning Groups. She serves on staff of the Spiritual Direction training program in the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, leads contemplative retreats, guides small group experiences and offers individual spiritual direction. Her ministry reaches across several Christian faith traditions.

When asked about her call to the ministry of spiritual formation, Jane said, "I believe my call is to minister to ministers. My passion has always been to invite, encourage and support leadership. For too long the emphasis of leadership has been doing. Continual doing without being is life-depleting. The ministry of spiritual formation invites persons to come apart and be with Jesus, to come to know who they were created to be, and to identify that which is life-giving."

Jane is a member of the Fellowship of United Methodist Spiritual Directors and Retreat Leaders and of Spiritual Directors International.

Susan Woodard is the Technology Consultant and Webmaster for the Center. If she is not working on the Center's website, you will probably find her at Center events, sorting out computer wires and setting up projectors, printers and all things electrical. She also works thru the Center providing churches with their own website. In her other life, Susan is an ordained Methodist minister, and an avid quilter. She has two children, Sam and Sarah, plus two cats, and two horses.
